सङ्कल्पप्रभवान्कामांस्त्यक्त्वा सर्वानशेषतः। मनसैवेन्द्रियग्रामं विनियम्य समन्ततः॥
saṅkalpa-prabhavān kāmāṁs tyaktvā sarvān aśheṣhataḥ manasaivendriya-grāmaṁ viniyamya samantataḥ
Meaning
Completely abandoning all desires born of mental imagination, and thoroughly restraining the entire group of senses by the mind from all sides.
Desires arise from mental projections — fantasies about what will make us happy. By recognizing desires as mental constructs, we can release them. The mind itself becomes the tool to control the senses, which are otherwise pulled outward to objects. This is self-mastery from within.
Strength Reflection
"I use my mind to master my senses, releasing desires born of fantasy."
Devotional Surrender
Lord, free me from the endless desires created by my imagination. Let me rest in what is.
