Chapter 6 • Verse 14

प्रशान्तात्मा विगतभीर्ब्रह्मचारिव्रते स्थितः। मनः संयम्य मच्चित्तो युक्त आसीत मत्परः॥

praśhāntātmā vigata-bhīr brahmachāri-vrate sthitaḥ manaḥ saṁyamya mach-chitto yukta āsīta mat-paraḥ

Meaning

Serene, fearless, firm in the vow of celibacy, controlling the mind, with thoughts fixed on Me — the yogi should sit, having Me as the supreme goal.

Inner serenity and fearlessness create the emotional foundation for meditation. Brahmacharya here means directing vital energy toward spiritual practice. The key instruction: fix the mind on the Divine. This gives meditation a focal point and transforms it from mere relaxation into devotional absorption.

Strength Reflection

"I cultivate serenity and fearlessness, directing my energy toward the highest goal."

Devotional Surrender

Lord Krishna, be my sole focus. Let my mind rest in You and You alone.
