समं कायशिरोग्रीवं धारयन्नचलं स्थिरः। सम्प्रेक्ष्य नासिकाग्रं स्वं दिशश्चानवलोकयन्॥
samaṁ kāya-śhiro-grīvaṁ dhārayann achalaṁ sthiraḥ samprekṣhya nāsikāgraṁ svaṁ diśhaśh chānavalokayan
Meaning
Holding the body, head, and neck straight and still, gazing at the tip of one's nose without looking around.
Proper posture supports proper meditation. An aligned spine allows energy to flow freely. Stillness of body encourages stillness of mind. The soft gaze at the nose tip prevents visual distractions without strain. These aren't arbitrary rules but time-tested techniques for deepening concentration.
Strength Reflection
"I maintain good posture and steady gaze, creating the physical foundation for deep meditation."
Devotional Surrender
O Lord, let my body become a stable temple for the practice of Your presence.
