Chapter 6 • Verse 10

योगी युञ्जीत सततमात्मानं रहसि स्थितः। एकाकी यतचित्तात्मा निराशीरपरिग्रहः॥

yogī yuñjīta satatam ātmānaṁ rahasi sthitaḥ ekākī yata-chittātmā nirāśhīr aparigrahaḥ

Meaning

A yogi should constantly engage the mind in meditation, staying in a secluded place, alone, with mind and body controlled, free from expectations and possessiveness.

Krishna now gives practical instructions for meditation. Solitude removes distractions. Self-control creates the foundation. Freedom from expectations prevents disappointment from disturbing practice. Non-possessiveness keeps the mind light. These aren't just meditation tips — they're lifestyle guidelines for the serious practitioner.

Strength Reflection

"I create conditions for deep practice: solitude when needed, controlled mind, and light expectations."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, help me establish a regular practice, free from the clutter of excessive desires.
