Chapter 5 • Verse 9
प्रलपन्विसृजन्गृह्णन्नुन्मिषन्निमिषन्नपि। इन्द्रियाणीन्द्रियार्थेषु वर्तन्त इति धारयन्॥
pralapan visṛijan gṛihṇann unmiṣhan nimiṣhann api indriyāṇīndriyārtheṣhu vartanta iti dhārayan
Meaning
Speaking, letting go, grasping, opening and closing the eyes — knowing that the senses merely engage with sense objects.
This verse continues the description of the wise person's perspective. By recognizing that all sensory activities are just the interplay of senses and their objects, one remains untouched. This is practical mindfulness at its deepest level.
Strength Reflection
"I observe my senses interacting with the world without losing myself in these interactions."
Devotional Surrender
O Krishna, help me witness life's activities without being swept away by them.
