Chapter 2 • Verse 59
विषया विनिवर्तन्ते निराहारस्य देहिनः। रसवर्जं रसोऽप्यस्य परं दृष्ट्वा निवर्तते॥
viṣhayā vinivartante nirāhārasya dehinaḥ rasa-varjaṁ raso 'py asya paraṁ dṛiṣhṭvā nivartate
Meaning
Sense objects turn away from the abstinent, though the taste for them remains. But even this taste ceases for one who has seen the Supreme.
Merely avoiding sense objects doesn't remove the craving. True freedom comes only when one tastes something higher. When you've found the infinite, finite pleasures naturally lose their grip.
Strength Reflection
"I seek higher experiences that naturally make lower cravings fade away."
Devotional Surrender
Lord, grant me a taste of Your divine bliss that makes all lesser pleasures pale.
