Chapter 2 • Verse 27

जातस्य हि ध्रुवो मृत्युर्ध्रुवं जन्म मृतस्य च। तस्मादपरिहार्येऽर्थे न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि॥

jātasya hi dhruvo mṛityur dhruvaṁ janma mṛitasya cha tasmād aparihārye 'rthe na tvaṁ śhochitum arhasi

Meaning

For one who is born, death is certain; and for one who dies, birth is certain. Therefore, you should not grieve over the inevitable.

Birth and death are two sides of the same coin - inevitable, natural, and nothing to lament. Energy spent grieving over certainties is energy wasted.

Strength Reflection

"I accept what cannot be changed and invest my energy in what I can influence."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, grant me wisdom to accept what is inevitable and courage to engage with what I can change.
