Chapter 2 • Verse 16
नासतो विद्यते भावो नाभावो विद्यते सतः। उभयोरपि दृष्टोऽन्तस्त्वनयोस्तत्त्वदर्शिभिः॥
nāsato vidyate bhāvo nābhāvo vidyate sataḥ ubhayor api dṛiṣhṭo 'ntas tv anayos tattva-darśhibhiḥ
Meaning
The unreal has no existence, and the real never ceases to exist. The seers of truth have concluded the nature of both.
What is temporary was never truly real; what is eternal cannot be destroyed. The body is temporary, the soul is eternal. Focus on what is permanent, not on what passes away.
