Chapter 1 • Verse 41
अधर्माभिभवात्कृष्ण प्रदुष्यन्ति कुलस्त्रियः। स्त्रीषु दुष्टासु वार्ष्णेय जायते वर्णसङ्करः॥
adharmābhibhavāt kṛiṣhṇa praduṣhyanti kula-striyaḥ strīṣhu duṣhṭāsu vārṣhṇeya jāyate varṇa-saṅkaraḥ
Meaning
With the predominance of adharma, O Krishna, the women of the family become corrupted. From the corruption of women, O Varshneya, comes unwanted progeny.
Arjuna speaks of protecting women and tradition, but his argument reflects attachment masquerading as protection. True protection comes through upholding dharma, not avoiding duty.
Strength Reflection
"I protect what I love through righteous action, not through avoidance of difficult responsibilities."
Devotional Surrender
O Varshneya, help me understand that true protection flows from dharma, not from running from duty.
