Chapter 1 • Verse 33
येषामर्थे काङ्क्षितं नो राज्यं भोगाः सुखानि च। त इमेऽवस्थिता युद्धे प्राणांस्त्यक्त्वा धनानि च॥
yeṣhām arthe kāṅkṣhitaṁ no rājyaṁ bhogāḥ sukhāni cha ta ime 'vasthitā yuddhe prāṇāṁs tyaktvā dhanāni cha
Meaning
Those for whose sake we desire kingdom, enjoyments, and pleasures — they stand here in battle, ready to give up their lives and wealth.
Arjuna realizes everything he would win is for people he might have to kill. This reveals the deeper truth — all external gains are empty when disconnected from love and relationship.
Strength Reflection
"I remember that external achievements are meaningful only in context of the relationships and values they serve."
Devotional Surrender
O Krishna, let my pursuits always serve love, connection, and dharma, not just empty achievement.
