Chapter 1 • Verse 32

Meaning

I do not desire victory, O Krishna, nor kingdom, nor pleasures. Of what use is kingdom to us, O Govinda? Of what use are enjoyments or even life itself?

Arjuna renounces desire for victory and kingdom — seemingly noble, but actually an escape from duty. False renunciation born of weakness is not true detachment.

Strength Reflection

"I distinguish between genuine detachment and escapism disguised as spiritual renunciation."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, save me from the false renunciation that avoids duty rather than transcending attachment.
