श्रीभगवानुवाच। असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम्। अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते॥
śhrī bhagavān uvācha asanśhayaṁ mahā-bāho mano durnigrahaṁ chalam abhyāsena tu kaunteya vairāgyeṇa cha gṛihyate
Meaning
The Supreme Lord said: Undoubtedly, O mighty-armed Arjuna, the mind is restless and difficult to control. But it can be controlled through practice and detachment.
Krishna doesn't dismiss Arjuna's concern — the mind IS difficult to control. But he offers hope and method: practice (abhyasa) and detachment (vairagya). These are the two wings of mental mastery. Regular, persistent practice builds strength; detachment reduces the mind's pull toward distractions. Together, they make the impossible possible.
Strength Reflection
"I commit to regular practice and cultivate detachment, knowing these together master the mind."
Devotional Surrender
Lord, I will practice persistently and let go of attachments. Guide my efforts to success.
