Chapter 5 • Verse 21
बाह्यस्पर्शेष्वसक्तात्मा विन्दत्यात्मनि यत्सुखम्। स ब्रह्मयोगयुक्तात्मा सुखमक्षयमश्नुते॥
bāhya-sparśheṣhv asaktātmā vindaty ātmani yat sukham sa brahma-yoga-yuktātmā sukham akṣhayam aśhnute
Meaning
One who is unattached to external sense contacts discovers happiness in the Self. With the soul united with Brahman through yoga, one attains inexhaustible bliss.
External pleasures are fleeting and dependent on circumstances. But the joy found within is inexhaustible and unconditional. By withdrawing attachment from outer sensations, we discover an inner wellspring of lasting happiness.
Strength Reflection
"I look within for lasting happiness rather than depending on external circumstances."
Devotional Surrender
O Krishna, help me discover the inexhaustible joy that dwells within my own heart.
