Chapter 5 • Verse 2

श्रीभगवानुवाच। सन्न्यासः कर्मयोगश्च निःश्रेयसकरावुभौ। तयोस्तु कर्मसन्न्यासात्कर्मयोगो विशिष्यते॥

śhrī bhagavān uvācha sannyāsaḥ karma-yogaśh cha niḥśhreyasa-karāv ubhau tayos tu karma-sannyāsāt karma-yogo viśhiṣhyate

Meaning

The Supreme Lord said: Both renunciation and the yoga of action lead to the highest good. But of the two, the yoga of action is superior to the renunciation of action.

Krishna teaches that engaged action with detachment is more practical than complete withdrawal. For most people, working without attachment is more achievable than total renunciation. This validates our everyday efforts when done with the right attitude.

Strength Reflection

"I choose to engage fully in life's duties while keeping my heart free from attachment to outcomes."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, let my work become worship. May every action I take be an offering to You.
