Chapter 5 • Verse 15

नादत्ते कस्यचित्पापं न चैव सुकृतं विभुः। अज्ञानेनावृतं ज्ञानं तेन मुह्यन्ति जन्तवः॥

nādatte kasyachit pāpaṁ na chaiva sukṛitaṁ vibhuḥ ajñānenāvṛitaṁ jñānaṁ tena muhyanti jantavaḥ

Meaning

The omnipresent Lord does not accept anyone's sin or merit. Knowledge is covered by ignorance; therefore beings are deluded.

The Divine remains untouched by our karma — good or bad. Our confusion comes from ignorance that veils our true knowledge. Removing this ignorance is the goal of spiritual practice, not accumulating merit or avoiding sin.

Strength Reflection

"I work to remove the ignorance that veils my understanding, not just to accumulate good karma."

Devotional Surrender

O Krishna, remove the veil of ignorance from my eyes. Let me see clearly.
