Chapter 4 • Verse 6
अजोऽपि सन्नव्ययात्मा भूतानामीश्वरोऽपि सन्। प्रकृतिं स्वामधिष्ठाय सम्भवाम्यात्ममायया॥
ajo 'pi sann avyayātmā bhūtānām īśhvaro 'pi san prakṛitiṁ svām adhiṣhṭhāya sambhavāmy ātma-māyayā
Meaning
Although I am unborn, imperishable, and the Lord of all beings, I manifest Myself by controlling My own material nature through My divine power.
God incarnates not by karma but by choice. Through divine will, the unborn appears as born, the timeless enters time. This is the mystery of divine incarnation.
