Chapter 4 • Verse 12
काङ्क्षन्तः कर्मणां सिद्धिं यजन्त इह देवताः। क्षिप्रं हि मानुषे लोके सिद्धिर्भवति कर्मजा॥
kāṅkṣhantaḥ karmaṇāṁ siddhiṁ yajanta iha devatāḥ kṣhipraṁ hi mānuṣhe loke siddhir bhavati karmajā
Meaning
Those desiring success in actions worship the gods, for in this human world, success from action comes quickly.
Worldly people worship gods for quick results. Material success comes faster than spiritual, but spiritual success is more lasting.
