Chapter 3 • Verse 8
नियतं कुरु कर्म त्वं कर्म ज्यायो ह्यकर्मणः। शरीरयात्रापि च ते न प्रसिद्ध्येदकर्मणः॥
niyataṁ kuru karma tvaṁ karma jyāyo hy akarmaṇaḥ śharīra-yātrāpi cha te na prasiddhyed akarmaṇaḥ
Meaning
Perform your prescribed duties, for action is superior to inaction. Even the maintenance of your body would not be possible through inaction.
Do your duty! Action is always better than inaction. Even basic survival requires action. The path is through engagement, not withdrawal.
