Chapter 3 • Verse 27
प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः। अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते॥
prakṛiteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśhaḥ ahaṅkāra-vimūḍhātmā kartāham iti manyate
Meaning
All actions are performed by the three modes of material nature. But one deluded by ego thinks 'I am the doer.'
Nature does everything through its qualities. The ego falsely claims doership. When we think 'I am acting,' we are confused. Understanding this frees us from the burden of doership.
Strength Reflection
"I recognize that actions happen through nature. I release the burden of being 'the doer.'"
Devotional Surrender
Lord, free me from the ego that claims doership. Let me see Your hand in all action.
