Chapter 2 • Verse 14
मात्रास्पर्शास्तु कौन्तेय शीतोष्णसुखदुःखदाः। आगमापायिनोऽनित्यास्तांस्तितिक्षस्व भारत॥
mātrā-sparśhās tu kaunteya śhītoṣhṇa-sukha-duḥkha-dāḥ āgamāpāyino 'nityās tāns titikṣhasva bhārata
Meaning
The contact of senses with their objects gives rise to feelings of cold and heat, pleasure and pain. They are temporary, appearing and disappearing. Bear them patiently, O Arjuna.
Life constantly swings between pleasure and pain, comfort and discomfort. These experiences are temporary — they come and go like seasons. Develop mental resilience. Equanimity is your armor.
Strength Reflection
"I acknowledge that both joy and sorrow are temporary visitors. I choose to remain steady."
Devotional Surrender
Lord Krishna, grant me the strength to endure all dualities of life with patience.
