Chapter 1 • Verse 44
उत्सन्नकुलधर्माणां मनुष्याणां जनार्दन। नरके नियतं वासो भवतीत्यनुशुश्रुम॥
utsanna-kula-dharmāṇāṁ manuṣhyāṇāṁ janārdana narake niyataṁ vāso bhavatīty anuśhuśhruma
Meaning
O Janardana, we have heard that those whose family traditions are destroyed dwell in hell indefinitely.
Arjuna quotes scripture about hell, yet selectively. Scripture also prescribes that warriors must fight for dharma. Selective quoting serves confusion, not clarity.
