Chapter 1 • Verse 23

योत्स्यमानानवेक्षेऽहं य एतेऽत्र समागताः। धार्तराष्ट्रस्य दुर्बुद्धेर्युद्धे प्रियचिकीर्षवः॥

yotsyamānān avekṣhe 'haṁ ya ete 'tra samāgatāḥ dhārtarāṣhṭrasya durbuddher yuddhe priya-chikīrṣhavaḥ

Meaning

Let me see those who have come here to fight, wishing to please the evil-minded son of Dhritarashtra.

Arjuna identifies those supporting adharma as 'evil-minded.' Yet these include his own relatives. Sometimes our greatest opponents are those closest to us who have chosen wrong paths.

Strength Reflection

"I accept that sometimes those closest to me may oppose what is right, and I must still stand for truth."

Devotional Surrender

O Krishna, give me strength to uphold dharma even when those I love stand on the other side.
