Chapter 1 • Verse 2
सञ्जय उवाच। दृष्ट्वा तु पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढं दुर्योधनस्तदा। आचार्यमुपसङ्गम्य राजा वचनमब्रवीत्॥
sañjaya uvācha dṛiṣhṭvā tu pāṇḍavānīkaṁ vyūḍhaṁ duryodhanas tadā āchāryam upasaṅgamya rājā vachanam abravīt
Meaning
Sanjaya said: O King, after seeing the Pandava army arrayed in military formation, King Duryodhana approached his teacher Drona and spoke these words.
Even the arrogant Duryodhana felt the need for guidance when facing a challenging situation. This shows that no matter how confident we are, wisdom lies in seeking counsel from experienced mentors.
Strength Reflection
"I will seek guidance from wise mentors when facing important challenges in life."
Devotional Surrender
Lord, help me recognize the value of seeking wisdom from those who have walked the path before me.
