Chapter 8 • Verse 6
यं यं वापि स्मरन्भावं त्यजत्यन्ते कलेवरम्। तं तमेवैति कौन्तेय सदा तद्भावभावितः॥
yaṁ yaṁ vāpi smaran bhāvaṁ tyajaty ante kalevaram taṁ tam evaiti kaunteya sadā tad-bhāva-bhāvitaḥ
Meaning
Whatever state of being one remembers when leaving the body, that state one will attain without fail, O son of Kunti, being always absorbed in that thought.
This extends the principle: we become what we think. The dominant thought pattern shapes our destiny. What you feed your mind throughout life will automatically surface at death. Therefore, choose your mental diet wisely — fill it with the highest, most beautiful thoughts.
Strength Reflection
"I am conscious of my thoughts, knowing they shape my becoming."
Devotional Surrender
O Lord, fill my mind with thoughts of You, so I naturally return to You.
