Chapter 8 • Verse 5

अन्तकाले च मामेव स्मरन्मुक्त्वा कलेवरम्। यः प्रयाति स मद्भावं याति नास्त्यत्र संशयः॥

anta-kāle cha mām eva smaran muktvā kalevaram yaḥ prayāti sa mad-bhāvaṁ yāti nāsty atra sanśhayaḥ

Meaning

And whoever, at the time of death, departs from the body remembering Me alone, attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt.

This is the great promise: think of God at death, and you unite with God. The final thought determines the next destination. But this isn't about manipulating the last moment — it's about living a life so saturated with divine remembrance that Krishna naturally fills your consciousness at the end.

Strength Reflection

"I cultivate divine remembrance now, so it becomes natural at my final moment."

Devotional Surrender

Lord Krishna, may Your name be the last word on my lips, Your form the last image in my mind.
