Chapter 8 • Verse 18

अव्यक्ताद्व्यक्तयः सर्वाः प्रभवन्त्यहरागमे। रात्र्यागमे प्रलीयन्ते तत्रैवाव्यक्तसंज्ञके॥

avyaktād vyaktayaḥ sarvāḥ prabhavanty ahar-āgame rātry-āgame pralīyante tatraivāvyakta-sanjñake

Meaning

At the arrival of Brahma's day, all manifestations emerge from the unmanifest, and at the arrival of night, they merge back into the unmanifest.

Creation emerges from the unmanifest during Brahma's day and dissolves back during his night. This cosmic breathing continues endlessly. Understanding this prevents attachment — everything manifest will eventually dissolve. But you, the witness, are not part of this cycle.

Strength Reflection

"I observe the arising and passing of all things without losing my center."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, as worlds come and go, You remain. Help me rest in Your permanence.
