Chapter 7 • Verse 24

अव्यक्तं व्यक्तिमापन्नं मन्यन्ते मामबुद्धयः। परं भावमजानन्तो ममाव्ययमनुत्तमम्॥

avyaktaṁ vyaktim āpannaṁ manyante mām abuddhayaḥ paraṁ bhāvam ajānanto mamāvyayam anuttamam

Meaning

The unintelligent think of Me, the unmanifest, as having assumed a visible form. They do not know My higher nature, which is imperishable and supreme.

Some misunderstand Krishna as just a human who became divine, rather than the eternal Divine who assumed human form. This verse corrects that view. God's true nature is beyond form, but God takes form for our sake. The form is a doorway to the formless, not a limitation of the infinite.

Strength Reflection

"I honor divine forms while knowing they point to a reality beyond all form."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, help me see beyond Your form to Your formless essence, and see Your essence through Your form.
