अन्तवत्तु फलं तेषां तद्भवत्यल्पमेधसाम्। देवान्देवयजो यान्ति मद्भक्ता यान्ति मामपि॥
antavat tu phalaṁ teṣhāṁ tad bhavaty alpa-medhasām devān deva-yajo yānti mad-bhaktā yānti mām api
Meaning
But the fruits obtained by those of small understanding are perishable. The worshippers of other gods go to those gods, but My devotees come to Me.
Results from worshipping limited deities are themselves limited. You go to what you worship. Those seeking temporary gains get temporary results; those seeking the Supreme attain the Supreme. This is not punishment but natural consequence — your aim determines your destination. Aim high.
