Chapter 7 • Verse 25
नाहं प्रकाशः सर्वस्य योगमायासमावृतः। मूढोऽयं नाभिजानाति लोको मामजमव्ययम्॥
nāhaṁ prakāśhaḥ sarvasya yoga-māyā-samāvṛitaḥ mūḍho 'yaṁ nābhijānāti loko mām ajam avyayam
Meaning
Veiled by My divine illusion (yoga-maya), I am not revealed to all. This deluded world does not recognize Me as the unborn and imperishable.
Krishna remains hidden from most because divine illusion veils His true nature. This isn't cruelty but protection — full revelation would be overwhelming for the unprepared. When you're ready, the veil lifts. The fact that you seek understanding means the veil is already thinning for you.
