Chapter 4 • Verse 30
अपरे नियताहाराः प्राणान्प्राणेषु जुह्वति। सर्वेऽप्येते यज्ञविदो यज्ञक्षपितकल्मषाः॥
apare niyatāhārāḥ prāṇān prāṇeṣhu juhvati sarve 'py ete yajña-vido yajña-kṣhapita-kalmaṣhāḥ
Meaning
Others regulate their diet and offer the life breath into the life breath itself. All these know the meaning of sacrifice and through sacrifice destroy their sins.
Dietary discipline is also sacrifice. All who understand sacrifice purify themselves through it, destroying sins and karmic residues.
