śhrotrādīnīndriyāṇy anye sanyamāgniṣhu juhvati śhabdādīn viṣhayān anya indriyāgniṣhu juhvati

Meaning

Some offer the senses such as hearing into the fire of self-control. Others offer sense objects such as sound into the fire of the senses.

Some sacrifice by restraining their senses; others sacrifice by consciously experiencing sense objects. Both approaches can be spiritual when done with awareness.

Strength Reflection

"I practice both restraint and conscious engagement as forms of spiritual discipline."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, accept my sacrifices whether through restraint or mindful experience.
