Chapter 3 • Verse 10
सहयज्ञाः प्रजाः सृष्ट्वा पुरोवाच प्रजापतिः। अनेन प्रसविष्यध्वमेष वोऽस्त्विष्टकामधुक्॥
saha-yajñāḥ prajāḥ sṛiṣhṭvā purovācha prajāpatiḥ anena prasaviṣhyadhvam eṣha vo 'stv iṣhṭa-kāma-dhuk
Meaning
In the beginning, the Creator created humanity together with sacrifice and said: By this shall you prosper; may this fulfill all your desires.
Humanity was created with the principle of sacrifice. Giving, not just taking, is built into our nature. Prosperity comes through contribution, not accumulation.
