Chapter 3 • Verse 1
अर्जुन उवाच। ज्यायसी चेत्कर्मणस्ते मता बुद्धिर्जनार्दन। तत्किं कर्मणि घोरे मां नियोजयसि केशव॥
arjuna uvācha jyāyasī chet karmaṇas te matā buddhir janārdana tat kiṁ karmaṇi ghore māṁ niyojayasi keśhava
Meaning
Arjuna said: O Janardana, if You consider knowledge superior to action, why then do You ask me to engage in this terrible war, O Keshava?
Arjuna is confused - if wisdom is higher than action, why fight? This is a common misunderstanding. True wisdom expresses through right action, not inaction.
Strength Reflection
"I understand that true wisdom is demonstrated through right action, not through avoidance."
Devotional Surrender
O Keshava, clarify my confusion between knowledge and action.
