Chapter 2 • Verse 55
श्रीभगवानुवाच। प्रजहाति यदा कामान्सर्वान्पार्थ मनोगतान्। आत्मन्येवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते॥
śhrī bhagavān uvācha prajahāti yadā kāmān sarvān pārtha mano-gatān ātmany evātmanā tuṣhṭaḥ sthita-prajñas tadochyate
Meaning
The Supreme Lord said: O Partha, when one completely gives up all desires of the mind and is satisfied in the self by the self, one is said to be of steady wisdom.
The sage has dropped all mental desires - not through suppression but through finding complete fulfillment within. Self-sufficient in the self - this is the mark of wisdom.
Strength Reflection
"I seek fulfillment from within rather than from endless external desires."
Devotional Surrender
Lord, fill me with such inner satisfaction that external desires naturally fall away.
