Chapter 2 • Verse 35

भयाद्रणादुपरतं मंस्यन्ते त्वां महारथाः। येषां च त्वं बहुमतो भूत्वा यास्यसि लाघवम्॥

bhayād raṇād uparataṁ maṁsyante tvāṁ mahā-rathāḥ yeṣhāṁ cha tvaṁ bahu-mato bhūtvā yāsyasi lāghavam

Meaning

The great warriors will think you fled from battle out of fear, and those who held you in high esteem will think lightly of you.

Withdrawal will be interpreted as cowardice. Those who respected you will lose respect. Flight from duty, whatever the inner rationalization, looks like fear to the world.

Strength Reflection

"I stand firm in my duty, not allowing fear to dictate my actions."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, remove all cowardice from my heart. Let me act with courage that honors Your presence within.
