Chapter 13 • Verse 32

अनादित्वान्निर्गुणत्वात्परमात्मायमव्ययः। शरीरस्थोऽपि कौन्तेय न करोति न लिप्यते॥

anāditvān nirguṇatvāt paramātmāyam avyayaḥ śharīra-stho 'pi kaunteya na karoti na lipyate

Meaning

Being beginningless and without qualities, this imperishable Supreme Self, though dwelling in the body, O Kaunteya, neither acts nor is tainted.

The Supreme Self, being eternal and without material qualities, though residing in the body, neither performs actions nor is stained by them. Like space in a pot isn't affected by the pot's condition, the soul is untouched by bodily activities.

Strength Reflection

"My true Self is eternal, quality-less, non-acting, and unstained by bodily activities."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, let me realize my unchanging, untainted nature beyond all bodily actions.
