Chapter 11 • Verse 50

sañjaya uvācha ity arjunaṁ vāsudevas tathoktvā svakaṁ rūpaṁ darśhayām āsa bhūyaḥ āśhvāsayām āsa cha bhītam enaṁ bhūtvā punaḥ saumya-vapur mahātmā

Meaning

Sanjaya said: Having thus spoken to Arjuna, Vasudeva displayed His own form again. The great-souled one, resuming His gentle form, comforted the frightened Arjuna.

Sanjaya reports: Krishna showed His own (human) form again, resumed His gentle (saumya) appearance, and comforted the frightened Arjuna. The great teacher gives the ultimate vision, then reassures with familiar intimacy. Both are needed.

Strength Reflection

"Ultimate truth comforts after it overwhelms. The gentle form reassures."

Devotional Surrender

O gentle Lord, thank You for returning to a form I can embrace without fear.
