Chapter 11 • Verse 49

मा ते व्यथा मा च विमूढभावो दृष्ट्वा रूपं घोरमीदृङ्ममेदम्। व्यपेतभीः प्रीतमनाः पुनस्त्वं तदेव मे रूपमिदं प्रपश्य॥

mā te vyathā mā cha vimūḍha-bhāvo dṛiṣhṭvā rūpaṁ ghoram īdṛiṅ mamedam vyapeta-bhīḥ prīta-manāḥ punas tvaṁ tad eva me rūpam idaṁ prapaśhya

Meaning

Do not be distressed or bewildered by seeing this terrible form of Mine. Free from fear and with a glad heart, behold again My previous form.

Krishna comforts Arjuna: don't be troubled or confused by the terrible vision. Let fear go and joy return. Now see My gentle form again. The Divine adjusts to what the devotee can receive. Terror yields to comfort when its purpose is served.

Strength Reflection

"Divine encounter can terrify, then comfort. Both are parts of complete revelation."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, I release my fear. Joyfully I receive Your gentle form.
