Chapter 11 • Verse 48

Meaning

Not by Vedic study, nor by sacrifices, nor by gifts, nor by rituals, nor by severe austerities, can I be seen in this form in the world of humans by anyone other than you, O great hero of the Kurus.

No amount of Vedic study, sacrifice, charity, ritual, or fierce austerity enables this vision. It cannot be bought or earned. Only by special grace to this one devotee was it shown. This humbles all spiritual practitioners: ultimate visions are gifts, not achievements.

Strength Reflection

"Final fruits of spiritual life are gifts, not achievements. I remain humble."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, what I cannot earn by any effort, You gave freely. I am humbled.
