Chapter 10 • Verse 38
दण्डो दमयतामस्मि नीतिरस्मि जिगीषताम्। मौनं चैवास्मि गुह्यानां ज्ञानं ज्ञानवतामहम्॥
daṇḍo damayatām asmi nītir asmi jigīṣhatām maunaṁ chaivāsmi guhyānāṁ jñānaṁ jñānavatām aham
Meaning
Of means of discipline, I am the rod; of seekers of victory, I am statesmanship; of secrets, I am silence; of the wise, I am wisdom.
Among corrective measures, the rod of discipline; among ways to win, wise policy; among secrets, silence itself; among the knowledgeable, knowledge itself. Justice, strategy, discretion, and wisdom — the Divine foundation of order and intelligence.
