Chapter 1 • Verse 12
तस्य सञ्जनयन्हर्षं कुरुवृद्धः पितामहः। सिंहनादं विनद्योच्चैः शङ्खं दध्मौ प्रतापवान्॥
tasya sañjanayan harṣhaṁ kuru-vṛiddhaḥ pitāmahaḥ siṁha-nādaṁ vinadyochchaiḥ śhaṅkhaṁ dadhmau pratāpavān
Meaning
Then, Bhishma, the grand old man of the Kuru dynasty, the grandsire, roared like a lion and blew his conch loudly, bringing joy to Duryodhana.
Bhishma's lion-roar reassures Duryodhana. In times of uncertainty, the confidence of respected elders provides strength. Yet Bhishma's support was for the wrong cause, showing that loyalty without righteousness is misguided.
Strength Reflection
"I seek guidance from the wise, but I verify that their advice aligns with righteousness."
Devotional Surrender
