Chapter 7 • Verse 17

तेषां ज्ञानी नित्ययुक्त एकभक्तिर्विशिष्यते। प्रियो हि ज्ञानिनोऽत्यर्थमहं स च मम प्रियः॥

teṣhāṁ jñānī nitya-yukta eka-bhaktir viśhiṣhyate priyo hi jñānino 'tyartham ahaṁ sa cha mama priyaḥ

Meaning

Of these, the wise one who is ever united with Me through single-minded devotion is the best. For I am exceedingly dear to the wise, and they are dear to Me.

Among the four types of devotees, the wise one (jnani) stands supreme because their devotion is constant and undivided — not dependent on circumstances. There's a beautiful intimacy here: Krishna loves the wise devotee, and the devotee loves Krishna. This mutual love is the highest spiritual attainment.

Strength Reflection

"I aspire to evolve from need-based devotion to the pure, constant love of the wise."

Devotional Surrender

O Krishna, be exceedingly dear to me, and may I become truly dear to You. Let our love be mutual.
