Chapter 7 • Verse 13

त्रिभिर्गुणमयैर्भावैरेभिः सर्वमिदं जगत्। मोहितं नाभिजानाति मामेभ्यः परमव्ययम्॥

tribhir guṇa-mayair bhāvair ebhiḥ sarvam idaṁ jagat mohitaṁ nābhijānāti mām ebhyaḥ param avyayam

Meaning

Deluded by these three qualities of nature (gunas), this whole world does not recognize Me, who am beyond them and imperishable.

Here is humanity's fundamental problem: we're so caught up in the play of qualities (purity, passion, inertia) that we miss the Player behind them. We confuse the waves with the ocean. The gunas constantly shift, creating the drama of life — but the Divine remains unchanged and unnoticed behind the show.

Strength Reflection

"I look beyond the shifting qualities of my experience to find the unchanging presence within."

Devotional Surrender

O Krishna, lift the veil of the gunas. Let me see You, the imperishable One, beyond all change.
