Chapter 7 • Verse 11

बलं बलवतां चाहं कामरागविवर्जितम्। धर्माविरुद्धो भूतेषु कामोऽस्मि भरतर्षभ॥

balaṁ balavatāṁ chāhaṁ kāma-rāga-vivarjitam dharmāviruddho bhūteṣhu kāmo 'smi bharatarṣhabha

Meaning

I am the strength of the strong, devoid of desire and attachment. I am desire in beings that is not contrary to dharma, O best of Bharatas.

God is pure strength — not corrupted by selfish desires. Krishna also claims righteous desire as Divine. Not all desires are problems; desires aligned with dharma (natural order, righteousness) are expressions of the Divine. The key is discernment: which desires serve growth and which feed ego?

Strength Reflection

"I channel my desires toward dharmic ends, knowing aligned desires are Divine expressions."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, purify my desires. Let me want only what aligns with Your will and dharma.
