आत्मौपम्येन सर्वत्र समं पश्यति योऽर्जुन। सुखं वा यदि वा दुःखं स योगी परमो मतः॥
ātmaupamyena sarvatra samaṁ paśhyati yo 'rjuna sukhaṁ vā yadi vā duḥkhaṁ sa yogī paramo mataḥ
Meaning
O Arjuna, one who sees the pleasure and pain of all beings as equal to their own — such a yogi is considered the highest.
The supreme yogi feels others' joys and sorrows as their own. This is empathy perfected — not just understanding but actual identification. When someone suffers, you feel it; when someone rejoices, you share their happiness. This breaks down the walls of separateness and reveals our fundamental interconnection.
Strength Reflection
"I practice feeling others' experiences as my own, dissolving the illusion of separateness."
Devotional Surrender
O Krishna, expand my heart until others' pain and joy become my own.
