Chapter 18 • Verse 3
त्याज्यं दोषवदित्येके कर्म प्राहुर्मनीषिणः। यज्ञदानतपःकर्म न त्याज्यमिति चापरे॥
tyājyaṁ doṣhavad ity eke karma prāhur manīṣhiṇaḥ yajña-dāna-tapaḥ-karma na tyājyam iti chāpare
Meaning
Some philosophers declare that all action should be abandoned as evil; others say that acts of sacrifice, charity, and austerity should not be relinquished.
Different schools have different views: some say give up all action as inherently flawed; others say sacrifice, charity, and austerity should never be given up. Krishna will give the definitive teaching.
