Chapter 18 • Verse 27
रागी कर्मफलप्रेप्सुर्लुब्धो हिंसात्मकोऽशुचिः। हर्षशोकान्वितः कर्ता राजसः परिकीर्तितः॥
rāgī karma-phala-prepsur lubdho hiṁsātmako 'śhuchiḥ harṣha-śhokānvitaḥ kartā rājasaḥ parikīrtitaḥ
Meaning
The doer who is attached, desirous of action's fruits, greedy, violent by nature, impure, subject to joy and sorrow — is declared to be rajasic.
The rajasic doer is: attached, result-craving, greedy, potentially harmful, impure, and swings between elation and depression based on outcomes. Emotional instability marks this doer.
