Chapter 18 • Verse 10

न द्वेष्ट्यकुशलं कर्म कुशले नानुषज्जते। त्यागी सत्त्वसमाविष्टो मेधावी छिन्नसंशयः॥

na dveṣhṭy akuśhalaṁ karma kuśhale nānuṣhajjate tyāgī sattva-samāviṣhṭo medhāvī chhinna-sanśhayaḥ

Meaning

The wise relinquisher, imbued with sattva, with doubts cut away, neither hates unpleasant action nor is attached to pleasant action.

The wise person with sattvic renunciation doesn't hate difficult duties or cling to pleasant ones. Imbued with clarity, doubts resolved, they act with equanimity. This is the mark of true wisdom.

O Lord, fill me with sattva so I act without preference or aversion.
