Chapter 17 • Verse 24

तस्माद्ओमित्युदाहृत्य यज्ञदानतपःक्रियाः। प्रवर्तन्ते विधानोक्ताः सततं ब्रह्मवादिनाम्॥

tasmād om ity udāhṛitya yajña-dāna-tapaḥ-kriyāḥ pravartante vidhānoktāḥ satataṁ brahma-vādinām

Meaning

Therefore, acts of sacrifice, charity, and austerity prescribed by the scriptures are always begun by the knowers of Brahman with the utterance of 'Om.'

Those who know Brahman begin all scriptural acts — worship, giving, discipline — with 'Om.' This sacred syllable connects the action to the Supreme, elevating mundane acts to spiritual offerings.

Strength Reflection

"I begin my spiritual practices with 'Om,' connecting them to the Supreme."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, let 'Om' connect all my actions to You.
