Chapter 16 • Verse 13
इदमद्य मया लब्धमिमं प्राप्स्ये मनोरथम्। इदमस्तीदमपि मे भविष्यति पुनर्धनम्॥
idam adya mayā labdham imaṁ prāpsye manoratham idam astīdam api me bhaviṣhyati punar dhanam
Meaning
'This I have gained today; this desire I shall fulfill; this wealth is mine, and this also shall be mine in the future...'
The demoniac mindset in action: 'I got this today, I'll get that tomorrow; this is mine, that will be mine too.' Endless acquisition, possessiveness, and future-projecting desire characterize their thinking.

O Lord, free me from the endless acquiring mind that thinks only of 'mine.'
